COMMUNITY VOICES COMMISSIONS
Our Community Voices programme is led by the community, for the community. Community engagement and participation sit at the heart of the programme, and you should keep this in mind when developing your application.
Community Voices are local community panels that meet every 2-3 months to commission projects for their local area. These five town-based groups develop and commission activity which is ambitious, accessible and relevant to local residents.
In June/July the groups met to decide on what kind of project they would like to see in their community, two ideas were put out to a wider public vote across August. The successful commissions will be chosen by our Community Voices panels at the next meeting.
BASILDON VOICES
Through our Basildon Voices forum, we have identified a desire for:
- A project involving the walks/ gardens in Gloucester Park. This could look like a mini woodlands walk/trail, or a sensory garden.
- Projects should appeal to residents of all ages and backgrounds.
- Commissioning Fee: £3,600 (production budget of up to £4,500)
- CLOSES: Deadline extended until 11.59pm Sunday 29th September 2024.
LAINDON VOICES
Through our Laindon Voices forum, we have identified a desire for:
- Project around friendship and benches- creating a place to talk, meet up. This could look like a benches trail, or a new bench designed by the community.
- Projects should appeal to residents of all ages and backgrounds.
- Commissioning Fee: £3,600 (production budget of up to £4,500)
- CLOSES: Deadline extended until 11.59pm Sunday 29th September 2024.
PITSEA VOICES
Through our Pitsea Voices forum, we have identified a desire for:
- A project around celebrating all cultures to educate, showcase and build connections. This could look like a festival of food/ trails/ dances/ stalls.
- Projects should appeal to residents of all ages and backgrounds.
- Commissioning Fee: £3,600 (production budget of up to £4,500)
- CLOSES: Deadline extended until 11.59pm Sunday 29th September 2024.
BILLERICAY VOICES
Through our Billericay Voices forum, we have identified a desire for:
- A trail project celebrating culture and arts of the community. This could look like a Billericay creative trail of artwork.
- Projects should appeal to residents of all ages and backgrounds.
- Commissioning Fee: £3,600 (production budget of up to £4,500)
- CLOSES: Deadline extended until 11.59pm Sunday 29th September 2024.
WICKFORD VOICES
Through our Wickford Voices forum, we have identified a desire for:
- A musical project to celebrate all cultures. This could look like food, dance, singing, a street party, or music in the park.
- Projects should appeal to residents of all ages and backgrounds.
- Commissioning Fee: £3,600 (production budget of up to £4,500)
- CLOSES: Deadline extended until 11.59pm Sunday 29th September 2024.
