Summer Sparks 2024
Join us for Creative Basildon’s Summer Sparks programme, a joint effort with Achieve Thrive Flourish (ATF) to provide free creative sessions for children participating in the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. This week-long endeavour from Monday 12th – Friday 16th August is designed for children aged 5 to 11 to explore and learn new creative skills, culminating in an internal showcase.
Creative Family Day
We’ve discovered abundant talent within the Basildon Borough through engagement with our local communities. To celebrate, we’ll be hosting a Creative Family Day event on Saturday, 17th August, from 11 am-3 pm, Northlands Park. There will be a range of free crafts, arts activities and workshops to enjoy, performances from the young talent in our community, stalls and more. Come celebrate the creativity and talent present within our borough, bring a picnic and meet our team!
Legacy Cultural Trails 2024
Over the past five years of Creative Basildon’s presence in Basildon, we have been asked time and again to support the celebration and championing of the large amounts of Public Art in the town and wider borough.
As part of the 2024/25 programme of work, Creative Basildon, led by the community will explore the cultural life of Basildon, through an opportunity to identify and map the art and cultural pieces: present, past and to start a series of trails that can be developed over the next year or two to literally put Basildons art, culture and creative history on the map.
The core overall aims of the Culture Trails are:
– to connect with the community of place and interest.
– to celebrate Basildon’s many cultural and historical places, spaces and works of art that are not only recognised as historically important but have also been in situ in the past and present. To build up a series of trails across the borough that celebrate the quirkiness and cultural importance of some of the places, history and people from Basildon.
Phase one activity is in Basildon Town Centre.
